Donkey Kong was first seen playing the bongos for his special attack in Donkey Kong 64: the Bongo Blast, which defeated nearby enemies with powerful sound waves. This inspired the Donkey Konga series, rhythm games where Donkey Kong bongo-ed to popular music, played with a special bongo-like controller. This controller was also used for Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat.
