When Bowser wreaks havoc on Yoshi’s Island, the spirit Hongo attempts to help by trapping Bowser in a storybook, but accidentally traps the entire island! He refuses to let the Yoshis free, as that would free Bowser as well. He agrees to help Yoshi defeat Bowser so that he can free them safely, granting the dinosaur the ability to change gravity.
