#11 in the National Pokédex, Metapod is a Cocoon Pokémon, being the middle stage between Caterpie and Butterfree. As a result, it is a Bug-type. It’s a defensive Pokémon, only being able to learn Harden, a move where it hardens its shell. The Pokémon is actually inside, every cell being rebuilt for evolution. Though its shell has been described as “steel-hard,” strong impacts could still break it pre-maturely, so tough battles should be avoided.
