Despite his appearance, Mighty Gazelle is a human. He was caught in a horrible accident, and rebuilt as a cyborg, his only purpose now being the F-ZERO Grand Prix. Due to his artificial body, he operates without fear of death, constantly improving his mechanical parts. His machine is the Red Gazelle, built by the same company that rebuilt the man himself. It sacrifices protection for the sake of better racing stats.
