After defeating the Omega Pirate, it falls on top of Samus, allowing Phazon to seep into her Power Suit. This yields the Phazon Suit, which protects Samus from Blue Phazon and gives her the Phazon Beam. It was yanked off of Samus by Metroid Prime in its death throes, freeing Samus from Phazon’s corruptive properties.
