#393 in the National Pokédex, Piplup is a Penguin Pokémon, being a skilled swimmer native to cold climates. It is a pure Water-type, being one of the three starters native to the Sinnoh region alongside Turtwig and Chimchar. It has a hard time keeping itself up, often falling over. Despite this, Piplup is a proud Pokémon, often rejecting care from Trainers, making it difficult to bond with.
