Unlike in the Mushroom Kingdom, these sentient fungi are anything but friendly. Appearing in both EarthBound and Mother 3, they attack by spreading spores onto their victims, Mushroomizing them. This causes a mushroom to sprout on the afflicted’s head, reversing their controls. In Smash, you can harness this plague as an item, Mushroomizing your opponents and turning their controls around!
