#235 in the National Pokédex, Smeargle is the Painter Pokémon, so called for its tendency to mark its territory using the paint-like fluid that leaks from its tail. Over 5,000 different marks have been found to be used by Smeargle for this purpose. Objects painted with these marks can fetch a high price, depending on the symbol used. Due to it lacking any other abilities, it is classified as a Normal-type.
