Believing himself to be a fairy, Tingle is in actuality just a very strange man. His attempts to be whimsical lead him to have a very... unique style of speech and behavior. In order to make ends meet, he flies around with a balloon, mapping out the lands of Termina beneath him. You have to pop his balloon to make a sale, which you can also do on the Great Bay stage. No need for a map in Smash, though.
